Unit 1 Review for First Literature Test

To prepare for your first literature test, be sure to make a chart in your notes with the name of the works, the authors, the main characters, the setting, and the plot for each story/poem we've read.  Also, be sure to include any special literary terms (in the yellow-brown boxes) found at the end of the stories.  You will be able to use your notebook during the test, so be sure to organize your notes well.  The test will include matching (characters, authors, settings, literary terms) and multiple choice (plot).  Finally, you will be asked to write a short essay comparing and contrasting the experiences of any two characters from any two selections we've read.  In your writing you should compare and contrast the characters' qualities/characteristics, their experiences, and their reactions to/the outcomes of those experiences.  You may make an outline in your notes (but do not write your essay in your notebook ahead of time).

You can find the Jeopardy! review by clicking here or looking in the class folder (see menu at right).

Happy studying :)
